Design Engineer (Temporary Works) Derby
The Client.
A well-known British based construction and Infrastructure Company is now looking to add an experienced Design Engineer specialising in temporary works specifically within its civils division.
The role.
You will be responsible for the design and control of all temporary work requirements on the various projects, all at different stages, from initial conception through to detailed design works.
You will review and advise on the feasibility and thus the process in order of requirement of temporary works including having involvement in the generation and implementation of method statements produced by the various site teams.
You will be expected to visit site, advise the client on designs and suggest alternatives where necessary.
Candidate skillset
You will have proven rail-based experience
Your temporary works design experience will span the following;
Temporary steelwork design specifically shoring and bridging, excavation, third party property, RC base and Formwork. Scaffolding and crash deck design and temporary highway and access are also needed to be demonstrated.
The client would ideally like to see candidates that are degree educated or demonstrate suitable commercial experience from an engineering background with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience as mentioned above.
Man management experience
Full understanding of Network rail standards.
